Rules and Regulations

General Instructions

  1. Designated Members of the University staff will be available for personal consultation during admission period.
  2. Try to submit the application along with the required documents as early as possible. Do not wait for the last date.
  3. As soon as the process of selection is completed, the merit list will be displayed showing the percentage aggregate marks of the applicants admitted in different disciplines against different categories.

Equivalent Examinations

The University recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  1. Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
  2. Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  3. British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  4. FSc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  5. American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.
  • Equivalence of Certificates Up to Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/ Intermediate Level

The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent marks certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan's Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as per decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate showing marks with the application for admission issued by the IBCC.

Merit of FSc (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics

In determining the merit of an applicant having FSc (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject, the marks obtained in the subject of Biology are replaced by those obtained in Mathematics.

Credit for Hafiz e Quran

20 marks will be added to the academic marks in HSSC/B.Sc. or equivalent examination of an applicant who is Hafiz-e-Quran. He will get the benefit only if he has:

• Filled in the necessary check box (option) provided in the application form.
• Appeared before the “verification committee” appointed by the Vice Chancellor for oral test carrying zero to twenty marks and the Committee has awarded marks according to the degree of his proficiency.

Determination of Merit in case of equal Percentage of Admission Marks

If two or more applicants have equal percentage of admission marks (up to three places of decimal after truncation), then their intermediate marks will be compared.

6.

Mutual Transfer Policy

Mutual transfer will be entertained if both candidates submit the application for mutual transfer (within two weeks of commencement of classes) and they meet the merit requirement of the concerned program in which he/she wants to be transferred.

7.

Variation in Seats

The University authorities may exercise their right at any time to increase or decrease the number of seats allocated to any program and there shall be no appeal against such a decision.

8.

Reserved Seats

Since the University has been established for the uplift of the higher education of the region, it may enforce a system whereby at least 60% of the student intake is from the region of Rahim Yar Khan and adjoining districts. Furthermore, the University under Government policy directives may admit students from Baluchistan on special seats reserved for them.

9.

Age Limit

There is no age restriction for seeking admission to any course at the University.

10.

Applicant's Gender

Both male and female persons are eligible to apply for all seats.
