Eligibility Criteria

BS Computer Engineering

a) Minimum 60% marks in Intermediate examination or equivalent excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks.

b) Candidate should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.

c) Any other requirement(s) recommended by accreditation body.

Academic qualification needed for different programs is as follows:-

a) FSc Pre-Engineering

b) FSc Pre-Medical with additional Maths

c) ICS (Physics, Maths, Computer)

c) ECAT/HAT

d) DAE in relevant field (2% quota)

e) O level (SSC) equivalence of Science group and A level

(HSSC) equivalence of Pre-Engineering group including Maths,

Physics and Chemistry or ICS including Maths,

Physics and Computer as mandatory subjects.

BS Software Engineering

An applicant for admission in BS Software Engineering degree program must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. At least 50% marks in Intermediate Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics.
  2. KFUEIT recognized aptitude test KFAT/NAT/ECAT or equivalent with accumulative test score of at least 50%.
  3. The overall merit for admission shall be determined from the percentages of HSSC marks and KFUEIT recognized aptitude test score as per the following:

Merit Score = (0.7 X Percentage HSSC Marks) + (0.3 X Percentage Aptitude Test Score)

MS Computer Engineering

At the time of admission, the students must have:

1. Sixteen years of schooling or a four years degree after F.Sc/Intermediate in Computer (Systems) Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or in any other related disciplines.

2. Minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.0 in BS/BE/BSc or equivalent degrees. Student from annual system must have minimum score of 60 %. The percentage score will be considered only if the CGPA is not recorded/mentioned on the transcript.

3. The GAT-General conducted by the HEC approved testing services with a minimum of 50 % cumulative score will be required at the time of admission to MS (CE) program. The GRE subject test score is also to be accepted. The scores must be valid at the time of application.

*The candidates will be required to complete the deficiency coursework prior to the MS coursework to ensure the pre-requisite competency in Computer Engineering.

*The host institution may conduct its own test as an alternate to GAT-General. In this case, a minimum cumulative score of 60 % will be required.

*The deficiency coursework in MS (CE) program will be determined by the Department on the basis of the core courses of the BS (CE) degree. In special cases, it may exempt any student from completing specific deficiency course(s).

MS Software Engineering

 An applicant for admission in MS Software Engineering degree program must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. 16 years of schooling or 4 years degree education after HSSC/A-Level in the relevant discipline with CGPA 2.50/4.00 in semester system or 60% marks in annual system.
  2. NTS GAT General Test/HEC Test with a minimum 50% cumulative score or KFGAT General test with a minimum 60% cumulative score.
  3. The overall merit for admission shall be determined as per the following:

Merit Score = (0.4 X Percentage Final Degree) + (0.4 X Percentage KFGAT / NAT-GAT Score) + (0.2 X Percentage Interview / Statement of Purpose Marks)
